Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior E&I Engineer to lead and oversee all aspects of electrical and instrumentation engineering across design, implementation, commissioning, and maintenance phases. The role requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimize operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, engineering, and execution of electrical and instrumentation systems for greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Develop and review technical specifications, SLDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, instrument datasheets, and control system architecture.
- Supervise and review detailed engineering by EPC contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Plan and coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of E&I systems.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, ISA) and industry codes.
- Perform load analysis, cable sizing, equipment selection, and protection coordination.
- Review and approve technical documentation such as FAT/SAT protocols, calibration reports, and QA/QC checklists.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex electrical and instrumentation issues.
- Evaluate and select field instruments, control valves, transmitters, and analyzers.
- Interface with operations, procurement, and HSE teams to ensure project objectives and safety goals are met.
- Lead hazard analysis and participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessment sessions.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians; contribute to knowledge management and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
- 12+ years of relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in [Oil and Gas/ Power Plants/ Petrochemicals/ Chemicals/ Fertilizers etc.].
- In-depth knowledge of control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA), field instrumentation, hazardous area classification, and power systems.
- Proficient with engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SPI/Intools, ETAP, EPLAN, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of safety practices, ATEX/IECEx standards, and SIL classifications.
- Hands-on experience in managing contractors and vendors during project execution and commissioning.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
